From Namba, take the Nanai Limited Express Southern train.
Kisihwada is about twenty minutes away from Namba. Kishiki Shinto Shrine is the birthplace of the Danjiri Festival. Most of the danjiri floats visit this shrine. It's a good place to start the day of festivities when you get to Kishiwada.
History of the Kisihwada Danjiri Festival
The origins of the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival may lie in a harvest festival which took place about three hundred years ago. The lord of Kishiwada Castle, Nagayasu Okabe, is said to have started this festival.
The daimyo Nagayasu Okabe is said to have prayed for a bountiful harvest at the famous Fushimi Inari Taisha Shinto Shrine in Kyoto.
