From Tokyo to Yamagata: About 2 hours 25 minutes on the Yamagata Shinkansen from Tokyo Station.

From Sendai: About 1 hour 10 minutes from on the Senzan Line.

The best place to see the festival is between Tokamachi Corner and the front of Bunshokan.
